Richard Kang serves on the Board of Directors at America's Frontier Fund.

He is Founder & CEO of Prism Global Management LLC, a global tech investment platform targeting disruptive growth companies at the intersection of geopolitics and technology, across private and public equities. Core investment sectors include fintech/crypto, cybersecurity, gaming/media, and industry-specific AI/ML.

From 2016 - 2020, Kang invested in, advised, and spearheaded corporate development initiatives for pioneering crypto/blockchain financial infrastructure unicorns backed by investors including DCG, Alphabet (Capital G), Mithril Capital, PayPal, and Declaration Capital. Kang’s firsthand operational experience with CBDCs, crypto exchanges, regulated custodians, DeFi, PAX (the world’s second largest USD stablecoin), and Alipay/Ant/WeChatPay blockchain platforms, forms the foundation of his domain expertise in cryptocurrencies/Web3, fintech, payments, and international regulatory regimes.

Previously, Kang was Portfolio Manager at Tiger Asia Management, originally seeded by Julian Robertson of Tiger Management. Kang transformed Tiger Asia into one of the world’s top technology funds, returning 395% in three years versus 44% for the S&P500. Kang’s concentrated, long term positions in disruptors such as Tencent, Netflix, Tesla, Alibaba, ServiceNow, Nexon, Nvidia, LinkedIn, Netease, JD.com, Vipshop, and TAL Education generated outsized alpha with low correlation.

Prior to Tiger, Kang served as a Fortune 500 senior industry executive in technology, media/entertainment. As Head of Global Strategy & M&A for MTV Networks, the $20 billion revenue flagship division of Viacom Inc (NASDAQ: VIAC), Kang was as a member of the Executive Committee. Previously, Kang as Head of Strategy and M&A at IAC/InterActiveCorp’s media division (NASDAQ: IAC), where he interfaced directly with Chairman & CEO Barry Diller on corporate strategy and deal execution. IAC/InterActiveCorp is an internet conglomerate comprised of online media and ecommerce assets such as Expedia, Match.com, Ticketmaster, Tripadvisor, LendingTree, Homeadvisor, HSN, and Citysearch.

Prior to IAC, Kang advised Fortune 100 CEOs as an M&A banker at Wasserstein Perella & Co, reporting to Bruce Wasserstein. He began his career as a strategy consultant, most recently with Corporate Decisions Inc, a spinoff from Bain & Co., where he developed growth strategies for CEOs of Microsoft, LG, AT&T, Samsung, Nintendo, IBM, and Motorola.

Kang received his M.A. from Harvard University focusing on China national security and geoeconomics, and received his B.A. from the Honors College at the University of Michigan in political science, specializing in China foreign policy.
