We believe the world’s best hope for a brighter future lies in a strong America.

A strong America begins with a thriving innovation base.

America’s Frontier Fund was created to build the capacity needed for America to endure as the world’s best place for innovators to reach for new frontiers.

our PERSPECTIVE

America’s greatest strength has always been our ability to innovate. From the Wright Brothers to the Apollo Mission, we are at our best when we look over the horizon and into the future.

Today, the most important areas of innovation lie at the intersection of industry and technology.

Today, the most important areas of innovation lie at the intersection of industry and technology. From energy and manufacturing to semiconductors and quantum computing, the new frontiers of technology will unlock a new era of global prosperity and domestic growth.

America must lead this next industrial revolution. The race for leadership in frontier technologies is at the heart of the growing global competition. We need all of America engaged to create a new American century and a brighter future for all.

THE CHALLENGE AND OPPORTUNITY

75 years ago, America was considered the great “Arsenal of Democracy.”

With an unmatched industrial base, we produced over half of global GDP and led the world in scientific innovation.

Today, we are at risk of losing our status as the foremost innovation power.

We have allowed our industrial base to wither, losing that historic convergence between industrial power and frontier innovation.

It's time to build a new American innovation base for the 21st century.

To create a world-leading innovation base, America must engage its full capacity – from training skilled workers to commercializing scientific R&D and scaling the most critical frontier technologies for the industrial base.

AFF is dedicated to creating a new era of prosperity and U.S. global leadership.

By 2035, we envision a world in which America is once again the world’s clear innovation leader.

SEEKING THE ENDLESS FRONTIER

We’re on a mission to fulfill President Roosevelt’s vision for a Strong America

New frontiers of the mind are before us, and if they are pioneered with the same vision, boldness, and drive with which we have waged this war we can create a fuller and more fruitful employment and a fuller and more fruitful life.
FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT

America stands at a critical juncture. The progress needed to achieve a more prosperous future for all humanity will not be achieved by squeezing more efficiency out of the last innovation cycle. Instead, we must pioneer new frontiers in science, technology, industry, and entrepreneurship to transform America’s economy and unlock a better tomorrow. AFF aims to catalyze a whole-of-nation effort to transform the American economy by working across the “full-stack” of innovation – from federal policy at the top layer, down to scientists working on cutting edge R&D at the bottom layer. By taking a comprehensive view of America’s innovation system, we seek to identify critical gaps, build novel tools and institutions to fill them, and create feedback loops across the public, private, and philanthropic sector to continuously improve America’s innovation system.
