He previously served as Director for Research & Analysis on the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, where he co-led the Commission’s work on promoting and protecting U.S. technology advantages, microelectronics, and public-private partnerships. Prior to NSCAI, Kevin served in the Office of Management and Budget’s National Security Division where he provided oversight and strategic direction to national defense investments across the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration, and the Intelligence Community. Kevin also served on the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Team at the Defense Innovation Unit, helping to develop, launch, and manage the xView Detection Challenge. Kevin began his career in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy covering a range of issues, including defense partnerships in Latin America, global defense posture, and U.S. strategic forces.In addition to his role at America’s Frontier Fund, Kevin serves as Managing Director for Strategic Technology Initiatives at Arizona State University and as an Expert Advisor to the Special Competitive Studies Project. Kevin received a B.A. and Master in Public Affairs, both from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. At Princeton, Kevin received the Scholars in the Nation’s Service Initiative scholarship and fellowship for academic excellence and commitment to public service.
